Dark Sky
This exhibition explores how artists, throughout history, have turned their attention to the night skies. It originates from and will refer to the key historical event of the Transit of Venus in 1874 to draw together the histories of photography and astronomy. It is scheduled to coincide with the occasion of the 2012 Transit of Venus on 6 June.
The exhibition is curated by leading photographic historian, theorist and Professor of Art History at Victoria University, Geoffrey Batchen and Christina Barton, Director of the Adam Art Gallery.

[Marcel Duchamp and New Zealand Art 1967-2007]
This exhibition will explore the influence of Marcel Duchamp on New Zealand artists, canvassing the history of his reception in New Zealand from 1967-2007. The exhibition will focus on showcasing the works by Duchamp held in the collections of Te Papa Tongarewa, Museum of New Zealand. These works will be presented alongside works by New Zealand artists.
Curated by Marcus Moore, PHD candidate Art History, Victoria University of Wellington, this insightful exhibition proposes that New Zealand was not as belated in its reception of conceptual art as conventional art history would suppose.
