beats with that?
20 0ctober - 3 November 2002
would you like beats with that? revealed the diverse practices of a new generation of contemporary musicians presented by Victoria University School of Music students in collaboration with artists and organisations from the wider Wellington community.
Embracing disciplines beyond the realm of pure electroacoustic composition, this was a multi-dimensional project. Featuring installations, film and live performance works reflected on the perception of sound in a variety of contexts—from the local swimming pool, to the digital interior of a web maze.
Providing students with a professional forum in which to develop and present their practices, would you like beats with that? demonstrated the Adam Art Gallery’s mission to support experimental art practice and to work with staff and students at Victoria University in highlighting the cultural life of the campus.
