The Future is Unwritten

The online exhibition project for The Future is Unwritten uses the structural framework of the internet to present a multi-functional portal of information and hybrid design/art projects. Utilising the hyperlink capabilities of an online environment this publishing project operates in two ways. Firstly, as a platform for three online artworks by the artist/designers Amit Charan, Narrow Gauge and Kelvin Soh. Each of their projects engages with the potential of the web environment to develop its own parameters, accumulate information and colonise space. Secondly, the website operates as an editorial. This section presents information on each of the nine exhibition projects including supplementary material collated by the artists to reveal their working process, and documentation of the activities related to the exhibition at the Adam Art Gallery. This approach is in keeping with the intentions of the The Future is Unwritten to create a situation out which work may develop rather than present an anticipated or resolved event.
